Dr Jonathan Price is a lecturer, researcher and independent consultant in arts management and policy with over 30 years experience in the cultural sector. He is active in European cultural and research programmes both as a funding assessor and a policy advisor.
With an academic background in literature and cultural studies, Jon's doctoral and postdoctoral work has explored the theory and practice of cultural leadership, expanding into questions around ethics, governance and creative programming. He currently teaches in the School of Performance and Cultural Industries at the University of Leeds UK,he leads the executive programme in Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy and modules on arts management as well as supervising research.
Jon's early career was in theatre, journalism and music promotion, followed by several years in arts development and cultural regeneration for local government, before moving into academia and consultancy. He has substantial experience of programme management, cultural strategy, fundraising, grant assessment, youth and community development, event management and international co-operation. Jon has worked on cultural funding programmes at local, national and international levels, including work as a lead expert for EACEA on Creative Europe. He has conducted evaluation work for organisations across the UK.
Jon is also a member of the European Expert Network on Culture & Audiovisual www.eenca.com.
